Over the years, we have worked alongside one another as school administrators, which has given us extensive experience in event preparation and production. Our previous admin roles not only involved daily school operations, but also involved planning, styling, and hosting school-wide events for the students and their families.
Whether it's a large production, a school function, or an intimate celebration, we bring that same mindset to every event we take on. Organization is our foundation, creativity is our spark, and reliability is what we’re known for.

Amanda Burns
Hello! My name is Amanda, and I am the Owner and Lead Planner/Designer of Teacher’s Touch. Originally from Orange County, California, I moved to Dallas in 2018 inspired by my husband, Sean, attending SMU Law School. Sean and I are now located in Rockwall, Texas with our three young boys. When I’m not immersed in planning, you can find me binge-watching Gilmore Girls or DWTS, trying new restaurants, or exploring new shops with friends!
At my core, I’m a people person. Event planning goes far beyond design and logistics; it’s rooted in building meaningful connections, listening intently, and curating memorable experiences that feel effortless and showcase the host’s tastes and intentions.
Even as a young girl, I was always dreaming up ways to enhance any space. From wandering the aisles of stores on the hunt for Barbie furniture to remodel my childhood dollhouse, to working the floor at Pier 1 Imports helping others find pieces for their homes, I’ve always been drawn to design and connection. Even during my time as a teacher, I found myself gravitating toward creating home-like, intentional environments for my students. Over time, that early passion for design naturally evolved into a love for turning people’s dreams into a reality through thoughtfully planned and beautifully detailed events.
Whether I’m setting an elegant tablescape or creating the perfect atmosphere for a corporate gathering, I approach every project with organization, intention, and care to ensure a seamless and memorable experience.
Rian Harwell
Hi! I’m Rian, and I am the Co-Founder and Lead Product Producer at Teacher’s Touch. As a Texas native, I’ve always known the true meaning of southern hospitality, and it’s that same warmth and generosity that inspires everything I create. I believe celebrations deserve more than off-the-shelf décor — they deserve art! Pieces that feel intentional, personal, and crafted with heart.
At Teacher’s Touch, I specialize in designing and handcrafting painted banners, custom t-shirts, personalized decal stickers, and one-of-a-kind décor that bring your celebrations to life. Every detail matters to me — the brushstrokes, the color palettes, the storytelling. Whether you’re hosting a birthday party, dinner gathering, school event, or anything in between, I love transforming your ideas into meaningful pieces that make your moments unforgettable.
Outside of the studio, you can usually find me spending time with my husband, Thomas, and with family and friends who keep me grounded and inspired. My background in art and teaching has shaped the heart of my work, giving me a deep appreciation for creativity, connection, and the little details that make people feel seen. Creating environments that feel warm, expressive, and uniquely “you” is truly my favorite thing.
Today, that same creative spirit fuels every collection I produce. I’m dedicated to crafting décor that doesn’t just look beautiful — it creates an experience. The kind of moments people remember long after the confetti settles, where the décor becomes part of the story, not just the backdrop.
